SHE / HER

If you want to awaken all of humanity, then awaken all of yourself.
If you want to eliminate the suffering in the world, eliminate all that is dark and negative within yourself.
Truly, the greatest gift you have to give is your own self transformation.
~ Lao Tzu

Obviously I am biased, but I believe therapy is for everyone. We all could use a knowledgeable person outside of ourselves to reflect what may be going on. We all benefit from someone holding space and holding us accountable. We all need a genuine, safe relationship to explore, share, and heal.

My clients find me to be warm, honest, engaged, curious, playful, non-judgmental, and intuitive. My focus is on attachment, emotion, and interpersonal connection in individual and couple therapy. I take a compassionate and mindful approach with people experiencing an array of emotional and relational issues including: grief and loss; sexuality and intimacy; identity struggles; self destructive patterns; life transitions; anger and violence; addiction and impulsivity; anxiety and depression; and the effects of abuse and trauma. Some additional concerns that I think are worth mentioning are: social anxiety, emotional disconnection, self consciousness, ADHD, obsessive thoughts, and family boundaries. I am a birth doula and am passionate about all issues related to pregnancy, birth, and the transition to parenthood. I am affirming of LGBT persons, couples, and families.

I have extensive training in treating trauma in all its forms including complex developmental trauma. As a certified EMDR practitioner, I utilize EMDR often as a means of releasing and repairing past hurt and trauma. I also have advanced training in Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy. Through EFT, I partner with couples to break patterns of conflict, increase connection, and take back their relationship from the obstacles that stand in the way of a meaningful, satisfying bond. I feel called to do this work, and I hope that your search for a psychotherapist is the beginning of your self transformation.
