Scheduling
As a clinic, we offer both in-person and telehealth appointments, however, not all clinicians offer in-person appointments. Please indicate a preference for in-person on your scheduling inquiry form and our Clinic Intake Coordinator will take this into consideration when recommending a therapist. A list of therapists accepting new clients and approximate wait time (if applicable) can be found further down this page.
New client intake
-
Our Scheduling Inquiry form is not required; however, it is recommended in order for us to assist in determining the best fit for your needs. Not all of our providers are contracted with all insurance companies. Nor do all of our providers work with all age groups and/or all client concerns. Completing the scheduling inquiry allows us to get to know you better before connecting you with one of our providers. After the submission of a scheduling inquiry you can expect the following:
An auto-generated confirmation email with information about what to expect next and instructions for continuing through the scheduling process.
A personalized email (typically arrives within 2 days) with any follow-up questions, recommended therapists, and instructions for continuing through the scheduling process.
-
The availability of our clinicians can be viewed through the online scheduling portal before completing the paperwork.
Simply choose a clinicians’ name from the drop-down menu, and select a location if that's important to you. Then, click on "View Available Times".
If you view available times without selecting a clinician or location, you won't be able to identify which available slots are with which clinician or at which location.
-
Complete your paperwork online
New client paperwork must be completed before scheduling an appointment.
Usually, within 3 business days of submitting the new client paperwork, you will receive an invitation (from TherapyPortal.com) to create a client portal account.
Complete your paperwork with an intake coordinator
We provide pre-intake paperwork appointments for clients who have limited access to complete our electronic forms or those who are new to therapy and seek assistance in navigating the consent forms.
For scheduling, please email our intake coordinators at scheduling@thefamilydevelopmentcenter.com
-
Once you receive and accept the invitation, log in to your client portal account to request an appointment with a participating provider.
Please take note of the following portal guidelines:
Availability may vary from week to week; there is no guarantee that the requested time slot will be available.
Appointments cannot be requested more than three weeks in advance through the portal.
Initial appointments must be scheduled at least 32 hours in advance to allow both the provider and client to complete necessary steps prior to the session. If you attempt to schedule within this time frame, you will be prompted to call the clinic. If you’d like to proceed with online scheduling, please select a different date or time that is at least 32 hours in the future.
Not all providers work with all ages or areas of concern, and some providers may be scheduling from a waiting list. Please only request an appointment with a provider recommended to you. Requests for appointments with different providers will be declined.
-
Please wait for confirmation.
Our providers will review and confirm or decline their own appointment requests. If you request an appointment with a provider who is not accepting new clients, the clinic may decline it immediately. In such cases, you will receive an email requesting that you select a different provider.
-
Keep an eye out for your insurance Benefits & Eligibility email containing estimated amounts for services.
If you have chosen to prepay for your services, you will receive instructions for making payments. Please note that appointments will be canceled if prepayments are not made and entered into accounts prior to sessions.
If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to us at scheduling@thefamilydevelopmentcenter.com.

Consultation with a masters-level clinical intern
Free 15-30 minute consultations are available with our interns for new clients considering therapy. We offer this consultation to help both the client and the clinician determine if the therapy will be a good fit. The consultation may take place either virtually or via telephone.
A consultation is not a free therapy session.
Existing Clients
Most of our providers schedule with their existing clients in-session or via email. If your provider participates in online scheduling you can request an appointment through your client portal account. If you do not have an account or have forgotten your password please reach out to your provider - their contact info can be found on their provider bio page.
