Therapy can be transformational! This is my true belief, and as your therapist I look forward to listening with compassion and skill to what in your life you would like to change. Together we will set goals and try a range of strategies, from mindfulness to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to narrative-based approaches that empower you to write a new story of your life. I also believe that you are stronger than you know—and that therapy can be an experience ofdiscovering your own wisdom and creating solutions that are exactly right for you. I am especially interested in working with people experiencing stressful lifestage transitions, depression and anxiety, relationship challenges, spiritual alienation, loneliness and fear, and grief and loss of all kinds. My non-pathologizing approach to these issues is to see them—and you—as relational and responsive to systems—we’ll talk about what that means in session!

As a spouse in an intercultural marriage, mother to three adult stepchildren, committed ally to my LGBTQ+ friends and family, and intersectional feminist, I am grateful for the opportunity to learn from people whose perspectives differ from my own. As your therapist, I will do everything I can to welcome and honor all of who you are. I am certified as a Gottman Level 1 couples therapist and as a provider of the Prepare/Enrich premarital counseling program, and I have earned an Advanced Grief Counseling certificate, as well. In my previous career as a college professor, I used literature to help students discover and articulate their core values about themselves and the world. I believe therapy is a place for you to do something similar—to make meaning of your whole, complex, painful and beautiful life experience.

I can’t wait to work with you!
