Mental Health Practitioner

Gloria Kranenburg, MPS, LPCC LADC

SHE / HER

I aim to provide a therapeutic space that validates my clients’ identities and lived experiences. I love using humor and creative thinking to support those I work with in making sense of what it means to be a human and live out a meaningful life. I dive into understanding relational patterns, exploring and expressing emotions and needs, considering the systems and social contexts in which we live, and increasing confidence around identity, values, beliefs, choices, and desires. You have more strengths than you may know and I believe both you and I have expertise and insight to bring to the therapeutic relationship.  My eclectic approach to therapy includes cognitive-behavioral (CBT), emotionally-focused, and existential therapies as well as training in Brainspotting for trauma processing.

One of my areas of focus is in diagnosing OCD and implementing Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD.  I appreciate getting to work alongside clients in the challenge of getting to know their obsessions and compulsions, increasing self-compassion related to their symptoms, and collaborating on the process of reducing the hold OCD has on their life.

I am also working towards certification as a sex therapist. Therapy with me can be a space to address feelings of anxiety, fear, and shame related to sex, issues around cultural, religious, and societal views of sex, increasing communication about sex with partners, and exploring and addressing other cognitive and emotional parts of sexual concerns.

I earned my Master of Professional Studies in Integrated Behavioral Health from the University of Minnesota. My internships were centered on co-occurring mental health and addiction treatment for adults.  My interests outside of work include being outside with my corgi, reading, learning the violin, making art, and enjoying local live music and theater.
