Master’s Level Clinical Intern
Jailyn Robinson, M.A.
SHE / HER
I believe that people have an inherent capacity for growth and change, and I approach therapy with respect for the resilience and determination clients bring into the therapeutic space. My aim is to create a safe, inclusive, and collaborative environment where clients feel heard, understood, and supported. I seek to honor each client’s unique lived experience while facilitating insight, self-awareness, and meaningful change.
My clinical approach is informed by narrative, experiential, and systems-based frameworks. Beginning therapy can feel intimidating, and I recognize the courage it takes to engage in this process and to explore the experiences that weigh on the heart.
I am a Black American woman whose identities meaningfully shape my clinical lens and professional practice. I am deeply committed to social justice and equity within our societal structures, and my work is grounded in an intersectional perspective that attends to how race, gender, socioeconomic status, power, and systemic oppression influence individual and relational experiences. I am particularly drawn to working with BIPOC communities, queer individuals, adolescents, young adults, and families.
Prior to joining The Family Development Center, I earned my bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Hamline University and my Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota.
Outside of clinical work, I value time with my family and find restoration through coaching collegiate-level track and field athletes, practicing Pilates, dancing, reading, and engaging with reality television and anime.
