Mental Health Therapist

Fartun Elmi, MA

SHE / HER

I approach therapy with a deep appreciation for the courage it takes to reach out for support. As a pre-licensed LPCC and LADC, I’ve worked with individuals navigating substance use, anxiety, depression, psychosis, and relational struggles, as well as challenges with executive functioning.  I enjoy working with teens, young adults, and adults. Also, I have worked with children on the autism spectrum. I firmly believe that healing thrives in connection—not just within ourselves but within the communities that surround us. I work to create a space where clients can explore their struggles, identify the change they want to make, and work toward solutions that fit their lives.

At the core of my work is a belief that therapy should be person-centered and grounded in trust and respect. Whether you're seeking clarity, healing, or tools for day-to-day life, I aim to create a space where you feel understood, empowered, and supported. My approach is flexible and integrative, drawing from a variety of modalities including solution-focused therapy, motivational interviewing, DBT, and CBT. My goal is to help you reconnect with a version of yourself that feels whole, authentic, and self-directed.

I’m particularly passionate about helping clients navigate life transitions, build emotional insight, and develop sustainable coping strategies. Whether we’re addressing long-standing patterns or immediate challenges, I’ll work alongside you to identify what healing and growth mean to you—and how we can achieve them together.

Outside the therapy room, I enjoy exploring new restaurants, hiking in nature, and traveling
across Africa and Europe to experience the rich beauty of different cultures. My identity is deeply informed by my Islamic faith, which serves as a source of grounding and meaning in both my personal and professional life. I bring this perspective into my work when it aligns with clients’ values, always with cultural humility and openness.
