Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist | MN Board Approved Supervisor
Laura Barbeau, MA LMFT
SHE / HER
As a therapist, I am deeply committed to supporting adults—especially therapists, healers, helpers, and creatives—who are navigating the complex and often challenging landscapes of their identities. My ideal clients are those who find themselves pondering big, transformative ideas like social justice, dismantling white supremacy, challenging patriarchy, and rethinking capitalism. Together, we will explore the systemic forces that have shaped who you are and how they may be limiting your ability to show up authentically in the world.
I bring a strong feminist lens to my work, drawing on the principles of feminism, neo-feminism, hood feminism. These perspectives guide our exploration of how gender, race, and class intersect to influence your experiences and shape your identity. We will critically examine societal norms and work to dismantle the structures that may be holding you back, empowering you to live a life that is truly aligned with your values and desires.
In our sessions, I focus on helping you heal, grow, and become more aligned with your authentic self. This journey may involve setting and maintaining healthy boundaries, enhancing relational skills, healing attachment injuries, or breaking free from entrenched patterns that no longer serve you. My goal is to help you trust your inner wisdom, uncover your unique truths, and nurture the aspects of yourself that feel most authentic and alive.
I believe in therapy as a space for profound personal growth, where we can challenge the status quo and create new ways of being. I no longer see couples unless both individuals are committed to their own growth and not merely seeking to "fix" their partner. The work we do together will be centered on your personal journey toward self-awareness and empowerment.
