My clients find me to be calm, curious, transparent, and empathic. What I love about the work I do is getting to know people so fully; how they have made sense of their past experiences and how that has led them to living their life. It is like solving a puzzle that I never tire of with each person. Guiding my clients to get to know themselves better leads to making changes in their lives which brings them into better alignment with their true self, and leads to more satisfying relationships and life.

Attachment theory is the foundation of my way of working with humans and their relationships. Attachment theory holds that every human being has a powerful, innate need to be connected and KNOW they matter to other significant human beings in their life. Therefore relationships are everything and this is exactly why we get so emotionally activated by them.

I have specialized in postpartum mood and anxiety disorders, emotionally focused couples therapy, and attachment theory. I have additional training in brainspotting and embodied somatic practices. I provide counseling to adults with concerns related to depression, anxiety, complex PTSD, transition to parenthood, relational difficulties, and social justice. I am passionate about social justice work and have completed training in the Embodied Social Justice Program.

I received my Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from St. Mary’s University in Minnesota in 2008. I provide supervision to marriage and family therapists in training as a Minnesota Board Approved Supervisor and as a candidate for American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy Clinical Supervisor. As a supervisor I work to increase awareness of systemic oppression to ensure that all clients have equitable access to resources, opportunities, and life outcomes that are enjoyed by members of the dominant society. Social justice supervision challenges White hegemony with goals of cultural affirmation and social justice liberation for both supervisee and client as well as the counseling profession.
