Master’s Level Clinical Intern

Ashley McDew

SHE / HER

As a biracial woman born and raised in St. Paul, MN, I bring a deep commitment to authenticity, vulnerability, and cultural humility to my work as a therapist-in-training. I believe that healing begins when we’re met exactly where we are—not where others expect us to be—and that embracing all parts of ourselves is an essential step toward wholeness. Grounded in Internal Family Systems and a nonjudgmental therapeutic lens, I strive to recognize the patterns that shape us while creating space for transformation and connection.

I am currently pursuing my Master’s in Social Work and Holistic Health at St. Catherine University, with anticipated graduation in May 2026. My passion for social work is rooted in a long legacy of strong women in the healing professions and a lifelong calling to hold space for others. Therapy has profoundly shaped my own life, teaching me how to live more fully, let go of attachment, and practice compassion for myself and others. I believe in the power of presence, curiosity, and listening deeply—even when it's uncomfortable—as a means to build a more resilient and healthy community.

Over the past five years, I’ve worked in acute mental health care settings supporting youth and families navigating complex trauma, substance use, anxiety, depression, ADHD, and autism. My experience spans residential, day treatment, and hospital settings, and I view generational trauma as a core thread in many of today’s mental health struggles. My clinical interests lie in supporting people of all ages and backgrounds through a holistic and trauma-informed lens, integrating mindfulness practices along the way.

In my free time, I enjoy taking dance classes, traveling, trying new restaurants, and spending time with the people who ground me—my family and friends. I am passionate about cultivating spaces where every person feels seen, heard, and empowered to reclaim their voice.  My long-term goal is to become a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) and
continue to walk alongside others on their unique path to healing.
