Mental Health Therapist
Sarah Buchlaw, MA
SHE / HER
As a community organizer-turned relationship therapist, I believe therapy can be a tool for personal and collective liberation—liberation from pain, generational trauma, and the systems of oppression that harm all of us. My work is informed by my education in couples and family therapy and background in organizing Jews for social justice.
Therapy is political. My experience as a white, cisgender, queer, Ashkenazi Jewish woman with invisible disabilities shapes my perspective. I am also a proud anti-zionist Jew. I work from a feminist, identity-affirming, anti-oppressive framework. I draw from various theories depending on each client’s unique needs, including: Narrative Therapy, Existential Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Psychodynamic Therapy. I hope that through a trusting therapeutic relationship, you feel seen and honored for your whole self.
I enjoy supporting individuals, couples, and families in navigating transitions, exploring identity, and strengthening relationships. I am particularly drawn to working with Jewish folks, interracial/intercultural couples, those working to heal personal, relational, or intergenerational trauma, and anyone desiring depth work and personal insight.
